Default History of the double-end bag

Does anyone know when the double-end bag was first invented?

And also, what bags were used in the gyms circa 1915?

The earliest pics I've seen of someone working a double end bag is Robinson in the 50's (probably early 50's).

The pics I've seen of workout bags in/around 1915 are heavy bags and speed bags that are almost as big as heavy bags... Enormous.

What about slip bags (maize bags)?

Were they around then?

I know they used mitts, heavy and speed bags.

Do you know of anything else?

I have a pic of Marciano hitting the mitts, that's as early as I've seen the mitts.

Don't know about the maize.
