Fantastic poster - with great local knowledge of Welsh Boxng and the surrounding area.
Here is a tribute to one of the great posters to grace these Boards........... Big Lads !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fight took place on 8 March 2008 at the O2 Arena, London and was much hyped in the weeks running up to the event, being given the tagline “bombs away” (referring to the high KO percentages and punching power both men boasted). On the night on leaving his London Hotel Room - Maccarinelli along with fellow World Champion Joe Calzaghe and his Girlfriend Jo Emma Larvin got into his trainer Enzo Calzaghes W Reg Vauxhall People Carrier and left for the arena. During the journey they decided to make a D-Tour to get something to eat - and parked up outside Mickys Fish and Chip Bar in Paddington London. Enzo Calzaghe bought Maccarinelli - Pie and Chips and a Can of Dr Pepper - which Maccarinelli quickly scoffed down with less than a hour to go before making his ring walk. It is then documented that Enzo slung the chip wrappers out the window to save time. Enzo Calzaghe then drove to the arena and played the song YMCA to pump up Maccarinelli and encouraged all passengers in his vechicle to dance along to the song. Finally they pulled into Londons O2 arena car park with one of the main beam headlights out they then quickly entered the changing rooms and warmed up on the pads. Maccarinelli lost the fight and his WBO belt when he was knocked out in the 2nd round. A right hand by Haye knocked Maccarinelli down towards the end of the round and although he was able to get back up it was on unsteady legs and the referee stepped in to stop the fight |

Was it the mention of Parc Trostre that caused this, Flint? I used to pop down there to the Pizza Hut every now and then to make a change from the food in the Stradey Park Hotel. BTW, if anyone in the South Wales area is looking for good quality pastry-based comestibles (I'm looking at Camp Calzaghe here) I'd like to recommend Evans the Pie in Margam. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I think that Enzo Calzaghes new car he is planning to buy is a bit out of his league - he certainly has never owned a car of that quality before. |

There's a rumour that he may downsize his vehicle (Fiat Punto from Day's Motor Group) but get a towbar and an Ifor Williams trailer for all the boxing paraphenalia. |

I still like GazOC he is a top boy. But us local boys have to stick up for each other. Big Lads is a man of the same community as me - we have much in common. And has much as I loved GazOCs naked balck porn women avatars - Big Lads had the greatest Avatar of all time - The 2 Enzos in the People Carrier slinging their chip wrappers out the window. |

This accolade for Flint has got me fired up and tempted to bang my CV over to the Western Mail to apply for the post of Boxing Reporter.
I can't help but feel fraudulent though, as I don't live in Wales (though my Missus and her family are Welsh), I just worked down there for quite a long time and spent a great deal of my life driving around Swansea, Llanelli, Carmarthen and even up to Aberystwyth every now and again (I know, it's the sort of life you dream of). |

I'll be in Wales tomorrow, near Llantrisant.
Do any of camp Calzaghe or Enzo Mac ever do any shopping at the impressive Talbot Green Shopping park? ***********.talbotgreen.com/ |

There are other careers in boxing world - other than reporting. What other skills have you to offer Big Lads ? Ever thought about being a driver for fighters ? Transporting them to and from arenas ? making sure they get there safe and well without any D-Tours or Disruptions ? |
