Default Short careers?

What boxers, for one reason or another, had strangly short careers?

Marciano only boxed for 8 years.

Johansson fought for 11 years, and in that time only had 28 fights.

Miske had a ten year career, though he was far more active.

Jeffries only had 20 fights

McAuliffe 35 fights

Willard 36 fights

Fenech 32 fights

Frazier 37 fights

Papp 29 fights

Spinks 32 fights

A lot of the Asian world titlists who were former kick boxers had very short pro careers.

For example Tae Shik Kim (WBA 112lbs) had 20 fights

Salvador Sanchez. Boxed little more than seven years and, at the time of his death, was a 44-1-1 champion who had never been defeated in a title bout. He had wins against Danny Lopez, Wilfredo Gomez and Azumah Nelson on his record when he died at the young age of 23. In terms of accomplishing a lot in a short time, Sanchez was the man.

Tyson had a very short career, in that his die-hard fans only pay attention to four years of it.

Actually his defeat was a Mexican title fight

Ok, a non-regional title fight. It's not like anyone cares about the Mexican title anyway; the best of the Mexican crop can beat any fake belt holder in their division. It's just like no one cares about the NABF heavyweight title.

So in other words a rather important title, particularly at Bantamweight

Jimmy Carruthers won the Bantamweight world title in just his 15th fight which was almost unheard of back in the 1950's.He subsequently defended it 4 times and retired undefeated preceeding Marciano by a few years.
Unfortunately he made a comeback 7 years later which put an end to his undefeated record and finally finished with a 21-4 record still very few fights for an ex-world champion.

Two ex world heavyweight champs from the past did not have to many fights on record. Jim corbett only had 21 fights, and James Jeffries also only had 21 fights, though im sure they did have many other fights, but i was suprised bout that,i thought they had loads more.

No I think both Jeffries' and Corbett's records are probably complete. They did go on tour and had many many exhibition bouts as well though.
