James DeGale has made it. He will be at the top for 10 years. Tonight has helped his career.

let Boxnation grow and grow, subscribers will increase. Fighters being out as often as possible helps the sport. Sky simple don't have the dates.

A dedicated boxing channel means the money goes back into the sport.

Or on the red button? The issue is this- if Boxnation didn't exist it would be likely that a certain promoter's fighters would be on ITV4/back on Sky. Instead it's a tenner a month for whole cards of which only a few have genuine crossover appeal.

No it isn't. If boxing was back on mainstream TV again it would be massive, the same way as it always was. 30 years ago if you stopped someone on the street and asked them who the British MW champion was you probably had a 50% chance of that person knowing....now even I'm not sure. The smaller the audience the less likely that it is that fighters a/ get paid a decent wage and b/ come into the sport in the first place because they haven't been exposed to it.

But that was good and free, and look what happened to Screensport...

I think boxing if it is to survive, needs to sell itself as a live experience; you must be there. TV is only going to work as an advertisement.

By all means have BoxNation, have it for free; but use it as an advertisement for big fights. Build up the prospects against the Teak tough Ghanian's, but only have the big fights without TV or on a premium.
