Ok that's a fair point, as long as the cards were PPV worthy.

How many genuine UK calibre PPV fights have been on Boxnation since its inception? Probably only Klitschko/Chisora in my opinion.

There are very few UK PPV fights. Thats why Sky graciously announced they wern't doing any more PPVs for the foreseeable future.

I would expect the cards to be stacked. Think The Magnifcant Seven. Although the sequel failed to live up to expectations.

If you make it (BoxNation) free, you advertise the fighters that bit better, get that bit more watching. Which could long term boost gates to the point PPV becomes viable. But yes, it is not going to happen overnight, and if it is done at all, Frank is going to have to take a hit in the wallet. Which probably explains why it is not going to happen.

I think people are going to have to accept the boxing business model means, that big British fights will only be viable for the short and medium term as a live only (Non TV) experience.

I totally agree mate. I thought the Mag 7 was superb show and was hoping that was the way cards were going to go. Never happened unfortuneatly.

When they reach 1 million, they can afford to buy a round of a million pints of beer at the pub in a single week!

Or a single pint per person per week for a million weeks.

BoxNation improves TV coverage of the sport and creates more events. If Frank took his stable back to SKY he would take dates away from other promoters.

What are the alternatives?

I think BoxNation should go nationwide on freeview but have 6 PPV shows a year. Although people would still complain about that.

Guys like Shane Mcphilibin winning the British tiltle is good for boxing.
Screening the ABA finals is good for boxing
Box Academy is good for boxing.

So on...and so on...
only if people are watch. really how many people are...not that many.

Box Nation could be something but its got the wrong people in charge of it who are drasticly out of touch with

Lets be real. Had any young casual fans accidently switched to Box Nation on saturday night and seen Buncey and Lillis discussing some western from 1951 would they have kept watching and paid there 10??

Take that same young casual fan and have them switch on the free preview of UFC 137 and I wonder how many more subscribers ESPN got than Box Nation.

Box Nation could work if it was marketed well and pushed correctly. Instead it has become a way for ***** W*rren to push mis matches and Steve Bunce to slag of a company that doesn't agree with his ideas for what makes good TV.

Frank had a deal with ITV. He left them for Setanta.

I was thinking this the other day, something like the Contender or what UFC do with the Ultimate Fighter. Get that on C5 on a thursday night or something. Would also help Fat Mick increase his Stable!
