Naz was utterly shot to bits when he fought Barrera, which was confirmed with his next, and last fight, against a very ordinary Spanish opponent who he would have destroyed at any point he chose when in his prime.

Hamed's career is an almost exact mirror image of Mike Tyson. In their prime both were arguably the best ever in their respective divisions, but their decline was very swift

He wasn't shot, his hunger was just gone at that point

I saw it as a schooling from a psychological point of view.

Naz sneered and jeered at opponents treating them like pieces of shit. What was funny was Naz kept sneering at Barrera and every time he did MAB punched him in the face. That was great in my view.

MAB picking up Naz and bouncing him off the ring post was the icing on the cake.

Naz was very disrespectful in the ring and I for one was absolutely delighted when MAB taught him a lesson.

Morales would give Naz chances but i'd still fancy his chances in that fight, Naz was struggling with likes Augie Sanchez as i said earlier. Morales dealt with Manny's raw power as well. The guy was and is bred to fight like a Pitbull.
Yeah, he said it.

With good reason too, Marquez was basically a nobody who was on the outer defeating avoided contenders on undercards at that time.

Can't help but think that he'd have got Naz out of there late, mercy stoppage kinda ending.

Morales does the best job on him though, would be a hiding. I would say that Naz wouldn't ever fight again but that was basically the case after the loss to Barrera anyway.

Morales would have been easier to hit though.

It would have been a total war.

Dont rule Naz landing some serious bombs and taking Morales out after going down himself a few times.

Not a schooling, but a pretty clear education.

Exactly what Augie Sanchez did - left the ring with a oxgen mask on his face - unconcious on a strecher.

Exactly what Morales would have done too - come straight at him and have a war - so the risk of him getting strecthed is alot higher than Barrera- who changed his come forward style and boxed off the back foot to a smart game plan to counter Hameds big puncher reputation.

Hamed just wasn't on that level.

Whilst he was fun to watch at his best, his record isn't packed with the top names, there's a fair few ''never been stopped'' guys in there and ''former champions''.

He only fought one of the top four 126lb'ers of his era and was well beaten. The same Barrera who was widely considered to be past his best at the time.

Marquez is the only one I could envisage Hamed beating - in the sense that he was prone to a flash KD, Hamed might be able to put him down for keeps, but with his wild lunging he'd be putting himself in harms way and would more than likely be eating hard right hands from the first bell.

Really?! You'd favour him over Azumah Nelson?

awkward. The dude could take a punch

I suppose I have to say Naz knocks him out tho, after my previous statement?

In terms of how they lost, I think there's a lot of similarities you can find in the Haye/Klitschko loss compared to the Naz/Barrera fight.
