Default Aspects of fighters bodies that made them superior

This is something that has always fascinated me in a completely non homo way. Certain fighters train and train to become well rounded yet other are physically gifted in certain ways which gives them great advantages and as a result allows them to operate above the rest.

Which fighters had physical abnormalities or trained certain parts of their body which made them perfectly hones fighting machines?

Tomy Hearns is an obvious example as a welterweight he was 6ft 1 and had a 78 inch reach in other words his reach was 5 inches longer than his height. This happened to be longer than all bar four of the heavyweight champions up until the era that Hearns fought in.

Junior Jones has those really high set, pointy shoulder which afforded him a massive frame and reach for such a small fighter and allowed him to get big leverage on his shots, which gave him power when his technique and stamina didn't really afford it. It also allowed him to add weight to his frame without becoming muscle bound.

It didn't help him become a great fighter but his very unorthodox body was certainly a massive factor in his career.

Winky Wright seemed to have the ability to cover his entire upper body and head with both arms.

Makes for a good defence.

Good shout another fighter who has shoulders like that not quite on Jones's level mind is the new British champion and ESB's own Derry Matthews. High broad shoulders which allow you to come up in weight without ever becoming muscled

Id Imagine that for a naturally powerful man he can disperse his power over a larger area of your head causing more damage. just a thought?

Extra force/momentum on punches, like changing the head on a normal hammer for a larger, heavier one.

Harder to avoid as well

I think a lot of that is the way Winky holds his hand inside the glove when he is defending. He doesn't really make a fist, so the glove is about an inch and a half longer.

Mayorga has absolutely massive hands aswell. That certainly contributed to his power in a significant way IMO, he's hit fighters with shots that didn't look remotely hard but would knock the opponent out.

Not convinced about big hands = more power.
