Nothing wrong with that scorecard.

So what would you have liked to see in that round, Mosley get awarded the round based on doing nothing other than pushing his opponent off balance?

It's odd how he as a judge ignored what the ref ruled. The situation becomes real odd when you factor in his family ties and history of funny scorecards.

(pacquiao - Marquez trilogy 115:113 pacquiao)
Actually Dave Moretti looks more like Golden Boy guy with those scorecards:
(De la Hoya - Sturm 115:113 De la Hoya)
(Hopkins Wright 117:111 Hopkins)
(De Leon - Penalosa 120:108 De Leon)
(Holyfield Ruiz I 114:113 Holyfield)

Had pacquiao ahead 86-85 at the time of the stoppage in the second Morales fights

He possibly collects throwbacks from the promoters.

This clears that up.

I agree with you that it's sketchy as hell his connections to Top Rank, but with that said, you didn't answer my question. Was it the right call to give Shane that round?

As a fan no.

As a judge we would be breaking protocol by ignoring the ref.

So he had a score that was correct? Lol. . .

I don't think there's any relation. . .

Trying too hard.

The way the judges are hired, and what have you, needs some changing up in general. . .

Im pretty sure this would have been exposed, and brought to light by now if he was related to Top Rank's Moretti. .

You should change your thread title around, because it's pretty misleading, and basically a lie.

EDIT: no wait, it is a lie.

Throwbacks from Top Rank's fights? This could get ESB sued. . . Seriously. .. *********** had to delete a thread, and ban a user because he was accusing Dibella of making incriminating statements he didn't make, and Dibella threatened to sue ***********. . . Hopefully the mods delete this, or change the thread title.

The thread title was a question not a statement. You're misleading yourself if you see it as a statement. There's more than just funny top rank decisions involved here.

You're just a regular Sherlock Holmes? LOL. . . He thinks he's on to something! 1.) There is no relation. 2.) Judges are not required to score a round in which there was a KD 10-8. . . They can still score it 10-9 if the other fighter dominated the round. Just like you can have a 10-8 round (judges discretion) if one fighter dominated the round so bad, but didn't score a KD. Obviously he made the right call here. . . 3.) There is no relation. 4.) Did I mention, there was no relation?

COuldn't you say that about all judges who have made funny decisions? Fact is, there is no more, or no less evidence that he does, than any other judge.

It's not fair to single him out because he shares the same last name as the VP from TR. . There's no relation! This would have been discovered by now.

well technically under the rules that should have been a 10-9 round for Mosley. Mosley "knocked" him down and was ruled by the ref, but Pac dominated the round, so it's 10-9 Mosley.

Judges aren't allowed to ignore the ref's call like that

We already discovered he's not a relative earlier in this thread.

The knocked down fighter can make it into a 10-9 round, earning 9 for himself instead of 8, if he performs well in a round he was knocked down. Check the score for the third round of Cotto-pacquiao for an example.

manny received 10 points from Moretti even though the ref called it a knockdown.
