Cant knock his confidence but it may be slightly misplaced. He did lose to Prescott surely he knows this. I think it was a mistake for him trying to get a fight with Maidana let alone JMM.
Is it Corley he is fighting next? Hardly a step up in Class. |

Lol to be fair be said "a guy with a style like mine" (not actually saying its him) he must know that if Pacman can't beat Marquez, McCloskey has very little chance.
TBF though, Khan would get KO'd by Marquez, early days, I'd expect McCloskey to at least, last the distance, but lose a wide decision. |

The decision against Prescott was a joke. Ruined my night that one to see everyone was just happy the hometown boy won - id rather have seen McCloskey beaten in a fair fight than win one he didnt deserve.
Marquez would absolutly destroy him! |

I know Paul comes across as cocky but a lot of professional fighters are cocky. I don't think combined with the Prescott fight explains the hatred he inspires in some. Sure, O think Prescott won but I can see the argument - even if I don't agree with it - for scoring some of the close rounds to McCloskey.
As for the Marquez stuff? He's just talking himself up. If he beats Corley I doubt Marquez is next. If it does happen it'll be a decent pay day for him but I expect Matchroom to look for another fighter on Prescott's level. |

People also forget that McCloskey was winning the first round before the "knockdown". However, the knockdown was not legit and therefore that was a swing of 3 POINTS in Prescotts favour in just the 1st round alone. I think I had it a draw, most on here had it to Prescott by 2. Prescott had a great first half of the fight so that is fair enough. But if the KD was judged correctly, even his knockers would have scored the fight to McCloskey. Just pointing that out! |

You cannot write McCloskey off, he will only lose the first 11 rounds on "purpose" to tire Marquez out and then knock him out in the 12th!!
