OK, Floyd certainly wasn't the best boxer ever, at all.

But the guy was a genius. He only fought in USA, his own country, so he always had the protection of the referee and the judges.

That, along with his style of "running" and just staying alive until he wins on points (which he always does), while dodging those who may be able to KO him (PAC, Margo, etc.) made him the ultimate survivor.

He was a champion and, lucky or not, he actually knocked some guys out (26 of his 42 victories, lol). His record was perfect. He was a genius in the sense, that he understood how to abuse the sport of boxing without actually being a good boxer.

He wasn't as much as a boxing fighter as he was a boxing genius. While some consider his career absolutely disgraceful, I think we should consider it a stroke of a genius in an otherwise very repetive sport He brought originality to the game. He was THE hustler of boxing.

True. I think Kessler could KO him, but the (German) referee would probably do everything he possibly can to save Ottke, lol. Kessler would probably lose by points in a match against Ottke, seeing as it WOULD be fought in Germany. Ottke fights nowhere else

When the competition did arrive (Calzaghe and Co) he ignored them long enough to make four defences before he lost to Glen Johnson.

4 defences in a quiet division is not bad for this limited pudgy little guy, come on.

Its not like Calzaghe and War ren wanted Joe to fight Ottke. They had a great similar gig going in Wales you know.
