1) You have good raw speed and coordination two things that can't be taught...only developed to a limited extent. Your athleticism will allow you to land punches/combinations where others couldn't and exploit tighter windows than others would be able to. So, to answer your question...you have the potential to be a good boxer with the proper instruction. Having speed means nothing if you haven't been taught how to: deliver EVERY punch correctly EVERYTIME, maintain proper footwork before/during/after a punch is thrown, slip punches, counter, manage distance, set punches up, etc., etc., etc.

2) 7 out of 10 considering you haven't even joined a gym yet. Your footwork was off a bit at times but I think you may have gotten distracted when your mates were watching. Also, you basically threw the same combination over and over so I can't grade your form without seeing if your coordination drops off when throwing uppercuts or hooks.

3) You may have to clarify what you mean by streetfighters because I generally associate a "streetfight" with a "barfight". If, however, you're referring to mma or organized bareknuckle fights in some dude's backyard then you would possess a distinct speed/coordination advantage against most guys your age. These advantages wouldn't translate to success, however, because you haven't been taught any of the things I mentioned above...especially how to fight off the back foot...which is vital for boxers in MMA.

And finally for pointers...JOIN A GYM ASAP!

Does anybody remember Billy Conn's line? He said "I had a thousand fights in the alleys before I worked my way up to the street."

Your technique is very, very poor. This is to be expected though.

You are right jeff but thats a bit harsh isn't it. Obviously he thinks he's a lot better than he is but I'm sure he will realise that once he gets into a gym. At least he takes an interest in boxing.

Fellas, with all due respect, cut the kid a break. He came looking for advice, and, sure, he's ****y, but what young man isn't? A 'streetfighter'? Among those of us that gravitated to boxing, I would venture to guess that fighting "in the street" is a common denominator. Everybody starts somewhere, and an arrogant 'streetfighter' is where a ton of the really good ones began.

i can understand that, i can respect that but i didn't call him retarded because he said "i didnt know shit about boxing" and i agree with him.. i called him retarded because he didnt give me answers, the least he could have done was told me to join a boxing gym so i can learn how to fight properly.

All arm punches. Go to a gym. If you stick to it, you'll learn and get good. People can go in with few advantages but it's hardly anything in a ring against someone who knows what they're doing.
