Default Francesco Pianeta vs Oliver McCall in Germany Tom

I don't know much about Pianeta, McCall is 47Yrs of age I can't believe he's still fighting.

Your thoughts on the fight, and who you have winning and how.

Thanks for any info.

Pianeta UD 12, Interesting fight, McCall will be very game in this fight, as he has been lately, Pianeta is a good heavyweight, He has been taking some soft touches lately, has also had some issues with prostate cancer I believe so that could be part of the lower activity and easier fights. He has a nice collection of wins though from a couple years ago, He won by stoppage to Matt Skelton in 2009, Over all I think Pianeta is a post Klitschko era threat. We'll see, Very excited for this one.

I expect Pianeta to win easily, he's not very impressive but still better than the current McCall by quite a distance.

Olliver weighed 253 lbs, I heard. He's in far better shape than was widely believed. I think he could win, because he still excels against guys who are too immobile to elude his bombs. Pianetta is not exactly a fleet footed fighter, and for this reason, may be a sitting duck for Ollie's right.

Ollie's only two defeats in recent years have been against who stayed on their bicycles, running, jabbing, and clinching all night long (Iggy and Boswell). Gotta have legs to beat Ollie, even an old version of Ollie.

I only caught glimpes of the fight, but it seemed that McCall was able to rip some combos off of Pianetta, particulary later in the fight. The judges' cards may have been too wide: several fans on ESB had McCall winning 3 or 4 rounds, and one guy even thought a draw would have been reasonable.

This is not good for Pianetta, as McCall's conditioning and performance were at a career low today.

I take this back. McCall was not in shape at all today, based on how he looked.

Meh.

We all knew Pinatea was no world beater from the Sosnowski fight, and now that he is coming off of cancer, it is may take him a good string of fights to get back to where he was.

Not really a surprise he didn't look like a future champ. I still like the guy for what he is.
