Stop being a homer. I know you need your mexican allegiance in boxing but lose it on a message board.

Castillo beat better lightweights than Chavez.

He certainly was bigger...can't dispute that. And you can't say that didn't play a part in his fights with Mayweather.

Castillo has an underrated D..but from his all the attributes in his defensive bag of tricks head movement is the one thing I think he struggles with...most certainly can't hang with Chavez there.

How do you feel his jab is superior? What fights did he show you
this?

In the second Floyd fight, in the Casamayor fight and in the Johnston fights Castillo bothered them a lot with their jabs.

I think Castillo may be the most underrated LW in the recent era. He beat Floyd in their first fight IMO and beat Johnston when he was a P4P guy and looked unbeatable. Beat Casamayor, beat Corrales, beat Bazan, Julio, Lazcano.

It really is ****ing impressive.

I once said, when I was a wee lad, that Castillo would probably go down as a top 15 lightweight...I was quickly shown the error of my ways, as lightweight may well be the deepest division in history..but his run there did impress me no less.

That being said though, his jab never really stuck out to me as a formidable weapon of his...He may have gave those fighters some issues but you will find some that will argue that he lost all of those fights (Mayweather x 2, Johnston x 2, Casamayor)..Chavez has totally dominated guys of equal calibre (not quite Floyd but not ridiculously far off) using that jab to set much of his best work up...and I wouldn't say he is necessarily a prolific jabber who goes down among the best in this regard but he is at least better than Castillo at employing..of this I am sure.

Keith
What he is basically saying is that look for Chavez to use the philly shell and Floyd to pump out that left rip the body overtime.

Floyd won't sign the contract. What is the point of this exercise?

I'm sorry to hijack the thread but this line was a thing of beauty and needed acknowledgment.
