Most relaxed ? Who remembers Danny 'Smiler' Sutton ?

He was so relaxed,he looked like he was asleep ! All through his 1983 fight with Joe Bugner,he looked almost serene. I thought he may have been on the funny cigarettes

I think Jack Johnson looks very skittish and worried in the ring... against reasonable opponents, not 170 pounders where he has little to worry about. He's very safety first, jumping in and out and retreating a lot to reset his attack, all the while moving his hands, very alert and active, but certainly not relaxed.

I think people just like to identify him as being cool and confident and relaxed. I think he was hyper-aware that one punch could end things and saw fit not to receive that punch.

As crazy as it might sound Jorge Luis Gonzales was ridiculously relaxed in the ring although that might have been due to the fact that he wasn't really trying...

I agree with the guys you listed, but would like to add the second career George Foreman.

never seen anybody as relaxed as james toney in the ring. he's probably more comfortable in the ring that outside it.

Antonio Cervantes,,,,,

From 1970 thru 1980

Even in August 1980, when the 34+ year-old (going on 40 years of age)
faced 'Whirlwind' Aaron 'The Hawk' Pryor in Cincinnati, Ohio - and with a hostile crowd in attendance -

Kid Pambele was 'mucho composed'.

Of course: partly it makes a boxer better able to roll with and take punches; partly, if you have a very relaxed style and a bad chin then you don't end up going very far!

His brother was killed in a gunfight in Argentina; the news was broken to the stone faced champion on the morning of his title defence against Roy Dale in Rome in May 1973. Accounts from eye witnesses say that Monzon just nodded acknowledgement at the news, knocked his challenger out in five one-sided rounds and said Now we go to the funeral. Not many people could remain so focussed under these circumstances but Monzon was something else.

Wilfredo Benitez always gave me the impression his mind was elsewhere when he was inside the ropes.
