I'll listen to an argument for Floyd to have a chance against pretty much anyone from 135 to 154, but I'll just shoot down any attempt (reasoned or otherwise) at convincing me that he'd have a chance with Tommy.

It's just not possible, there's more chance of Leeds winning the Premier League next season.

Leonard - I'll listen
Duran - I'll listen
Whitaker - I'll listen
DLH - I'll listen
Trinidad - I'll listen

Hearns - no

Judging by how he fared with Oscar for real, peak versions of those guys?

Probably only Tito IMO. That's a very tough assignment for Floyd, far tougher than anything he's actually taken on. But with a Baldomir x2 performance Floyd might just navigate Trinidad without getting hurt, and might just do enough 'point scoring' to win over 12 rounds.

He'd need to be in pot shotting mode and I wouldn't blame him.

I reckon Hearns would blast Trinidad. Tito usually went down in one of the opening rounds, either he takes Tommy's head off when he gets back up with a Barkley-esque Hail Mary or Tommy finishes him. At 147 I lean towards the latter heavily.

The only one of that list Floyd would have a chance with, prime for prime, is Trinidad. He'd beat him handily IMO.

Sweet Pea is another bad matchup for Floyd IMO. Competitive mathup but pure handspeed aside Pea has many more tools at his disposal and the more consistent jab.

Floyd Vs McGirt would be interesting

Mayweather wins due to Floyd beating a fighter the same height as Hearns before: Digeo Corrales

- Danny Flexen.

He more or less put this in a write up, when asked about this fight.

What a silly little boy.

Hearns within 4-7.

Tommy is one of, if not, the greatest pure Boxer of all time.

Mayweather accuses Hearns of taking PEDs and the fight never happens. Floyd defends against Sean O'Grady instead.

If lesser fighters than Floyd can survive against peak Hearns surely Floyd can and make it a bit competetive.

Hearns mullers him, to beat Floyd from range you need a good right hand imo & Tommy has a great one

Hearns vs Curry would be a much better fight, tough to call imo.

Angel Espada didn't. Benitez was soundly outboxed by a less than 100% Tommy at 154.

Hearns lost below middle once, against Ray Leonard. There you go. He was also not even really pushed by anyone else in all honesty was he?

In other words, only a greater fighter than Floyd beat Hearns around here. So by that rationale Floyd isn't getting anything done either.

I also think Starling would beat Floyd at 147. Too strong, quality jab, would get inside all night and outwork Floyd.

Mind you if Floyd is on potshotting duty and Starling is in clowning mode=worst fight ever, even for the purists
