Default Blunt Force Trauma...Who hit harder?

How would you categorize these twelve middleweight power punchers?
Bob Fitzsimmons,Stanley Ketchel, Rocky Graziano, Florentino Fernandez, Cyclone Hart, Rodrigo Valdez, Bennie Briscoe, Eduardo Lausse, Julian Jackson, Sam Langford,John Mugabi and Gerald McClellan...Twelve of the hardest hitting middleweights I could come up with....
Honorable Mention: Henry Hank, Rubin Carter, and Roy Jones Jr.
Addendum: Thomas Hearns and Nigel Benn

Well, blunt force makes me think of clubbers like Foreman who don't get you out of there with one shot but maul you to death with numerous shots.

Julian Jackson is definitely a "clean" power type of fighter who iced you with one shot.

I don't know of very many fighters who KO'ed as many people as he did with a single shot.

Briscoe on the other hand is an accumulation type fighter who won wars of attrition, me thinks.

Antwun Echols might not have been at the top long but im sure he was on par or even hit harder than some of the guys you mentioned..

Bernard Hopkins has said no one ever hit him harder, and that Trinidads punches had nothing on Echols punches.

Juan Roldan hit pretty hard too.

Antwun had a lot of pop, no doubt.

Julian hit harder, obviously, at 154.

Hell, I don't know if a single harder shot has ever been landed at 160 than the left hook SRR iced Fulmer with, and Fulmer had as tough a beard as there was. That was a ****ing wicked shot.

I've immediately leaned towards Julian Jackson.

Come to think of it, Langford might be a better choice given his penchant for beating up bigger fighters.

Ironic that you should say that, noting your avatar..and for the most part that's true,...you're actually correct for the most part, but Briscoe was also capable of a great single shot once in a while..as for example the one he nearly got Monzon with..just think of all the minor chins he would have cracked with that shot..or those who would have been too bleary to survive his follow-up assault..who didn't have Monzon's amazing chin and powers of recuperation.

I think I agree with that...though Danny Lopez had an uncanny ability to end it all with one shot..and there's Bob Foster.

Tremendous puncher ... however Sam Langford in shape was close to the same size and flattened heavyweights with single shots ...

If were talking pound for pound punchers my biggest, P4P, were

Langford
Fitz
Dempsey
Marciano

It's one thing to flatten men your size .. these guys flattened MUCH bigger guys ...

He,Great quartet,Langford, Fitz, Dempsey,Marciano. All under 200 pounds.-
Let's add young Joe Louis, who in 1935,kod the George Chuvalo of his times,
Paolino Uzcudun, with a right hand that drove the Basques teeth through his lips.Oh could young Louis hit then! What a quintet we then have.
Louis at that time came in at under 200 pounds

No doubt Louis was exeptional ... at 200m pounds look at him crush an rion chinned Max Baer, Buddy Baer and Abe Simon ... his power and speed were frightening ...

Langford was a natural middleweight and could have stayed at 168 his whole career ... he flattened guys like Wills, Smith, Flynn with single shots ... he was simply an exceptional puncher ...

Fitz , so under appreciated today was viewed in 1910 as the greatest fighter of them all ... a man who weighted in the 170's and crushed heavyqweights. Busted bones, left them out and bloody ...

Dempsey actually weighted 180 when he fought the 250 Willard ... forget Willards age and inactivity ... he was still a monster in terrific shape with an iron chin ... look at how many times Johnson hit him flush without even moving him ... Dempsey's opening round assault was brutal and savage ... the initial left hoof that flattened Willard may have been one of the all time nasty shots ... his record of destroying physical monsters from an age when everyone was tough as nails speaks for itself .. Carl Morris, Fred Fulton, Willard, Firpo ... Dempsey was an explosive hitter ..

Marciano was basically a 185 pound guy that could take out anyone with the right shot .. his power speaks for itself .. for single shot power on a pound for pound basis he was up there with the best ..

Of course guys like Jackson and Foster were monster punchers but the men who flatted guys much bigger were extremely rare and special ...

There must be Many good Middleweight Punchers, who did not have the other skills, chin or perhaps management to become long-time fixtures in the Middleweight rankings, but just on punching Power alone, were very dangerous to hang your chin out with.

Gretian Tonna
Slammi' Sammy Nemith
Dangerous Don Lee

Lemar Parks career was cut short, but had a very good left hook
