Ruben Tabares:"Hey Amir, lets get a picture of you pretending to lift that big weight. That'll scare the shit out of Garcia!"

It makes little sense to post only a picture of him in the start position without him lifting the weight. Who does that?
That's what didn't make sense. Who is this camera guy?

Olympic bars.. Which I'm 99% sure it is weighs 45 pounds.
The plates on there i'm 99% sure are 45 pound plates.
The man is deadlifting 405 here.

Anybody who thinks there 25 plates... Look in the background under the bench. That is a black rubber 25 pound plate. A lot smaller than the ones Khan is lifting.

My max deadlift was actually 405, and I'm around 165. It looks like 405 to me, but I'm amazed Khan can do this... Not cuz he's only maybe 150 pounds, or that he couldn't do it, BUT he has both hands over the top (deadlifts one goes under, one goes over to improve grip), and he's not using chalk or straps. If you don't need chalk or straps that means it must not be that hard for you to grip it cuz it isn't that heavy to you.
If Khan does 405, overhand grip, with no chalk/ straps... Dude is a straight beast! The thing about the picture though, there is not one of him lifting it.........

Those look like 45's but I seriously doubt Khan is pulling 405lbs.

Moe than likely they are 25'2 or 35's at most. Still decent weight for a junior welter weight.

I am a part of the new school of trainers that feel weights are essential for fighters.

His overhand grip (both hands), and the fact he's using no chalk/ straps is what has me boggled.
Looks like 405, but don't see how it's possible. I'd need proof of him lifting it to beleive it.

Ruben is a smart guy and an athlete himself... He's used to training heavyweight Haye though.

You can't really improve power from lifting weights. It's just a fact and physics, it's in the technique.

As long as it doesn't hurt Khan's speed its fine
