first of all, unless you're under a rock somewhere, his "mythical god like standing in the history of the sport" transcends just the american perspective. it exists internationally as well, and if you couple his in ring aggression and never before seen abilities with his out of the ring antics and persona, you can easily see why that is the case.

To keep it away from a Troll thread:

He was considered a "Small" HW in his era, which began the Super-HW era, despite being 215+ pounds, so I'll give you that.
And his height and reach could be looked at as a disadvantage. If he didn't have his athletic ability, he would have looked more like Tua. But it was that athletic ability for the size he was that intrigued his trainers from an early age.

The problem with being his height, weight and with his reach in this new era was that if Tyson wasn't trained to full capacity, Mentally, Physically, and Technically...it lowers his chances to win. And youth was important. He was always going to burn out quicker than the rest of the big guys because of how he had to train and have that "edge" when preparing and fighting. It just takes up to much energy.

BS! If you speak about Spinks or Evander, I would buy it but with a guy that has some 15 1st round kayos. ****, you are really disconnected with the whole system of thought here.

funny that you can call him a cruiser, seeing as no cruiser has ever been able to dominate the HW scene in the same way that HW Tyson did.

Do you have to trash old fighters and blatantly lie? Come on! Just stop.
Tyson was 220 in prime and had a big frame. He beat plenty big heavyweights as well like
the 230 pound Sterling Benjamin in round 1
the 250 pound Sammy Scaff in round 1
the 240 pound Mike Jameson in round 5
the 230 pound Tyrell Biggs in round 7
the 240 pound Tony Tubbs in round 2
the 230 pound Frank Bruno in round 5
the 235 pound Francois Botha in round 5
the 245 pound Julius Francis in round 2
the 260 pound Brien Nielsen in round 7
