I'm too lazy to make this a poll, but how would this come out at 122? Could the feral Fenech overcome the physical advantages and sharp punching of Jones? I used to think Fenech was overrated but have recently rewatched some of his earlier fights. Still, would Jones be too much for him, even at his best?

Fenech would outwork him and stop him by the 10th or 11th round, up a few points at the time.
Fenech is just too strong for junior. Jones will clock him with good shots throughout , but I doubt it will be enough to stop Jeff's perpetual motion. |

Fenech leaves himself open a lot. Doesn't anyone think that Jones exploits this? Then again, he wasn't the sturdiest fighter even in his prime.

Jones catches Fenech coming with his right hand a couple of times but Fenech's pressure would be too much for him, Jeff wears him down and stops him at around the ninth round.

Didn't see this thread when it first happened.
Been uploading some Jeff to youtube and thought I'd see if there were any threads that were crying out for footage. I just came here to say this fight is a mismatch. Different levels of fighters and Fenech did have a tight guard and could pick his shots when he needed to. He was an all-round machine. This would be a drubbing, although probably a lot of fun. |
