I'll take Floyd by decision, because of his hand speed.
I could see someone picking by stoppage, but I'm going to give Spinks the benefit of the doubt. He was stopped by Mike Tyson. Then again, I could say he was Listoned. To reference Floyd's fights with Sonny. |

Patterson didn't start to get knocked down until he became Hvyweight champ.
His "Lightheavyweight record" doesn't show many well known Lightheavy's. If the Spink's Jinx can't dent Floyd's chin, then Floyd will win by UD. |

Floyd Patterson wins this one. I feel that he is vastly underrated as a fighter. Other than the two Liston fights , he always gave a good account of himself and usually came out on top.

Michael would take a tight decision, Floyd would make him work for it.Futch and D'amato would have this like a serious chess match, and the fight would be decided in the last round by a move or two.

I like hose fast hands of Floyd in this.
And his busier wokrate and he'll be the guy dictating the pace of the bout. I also like the Patterson defense against the type of punches Spinks throws to be effective at deflecting punches with those hands up that high. And he sure did keep them up nice and high for the whole fight and he'd better against this guy. I also think Mike Spinks gets countered when going to the body. Floyd leaves that false opening and threw those quick shots of his when opponents tried going to the body on the outside. Fast hand counters and it's really almost a trap. |
