maybe not here but at the previous forum i went to.....

see the thing is..... pac fans go overboard , floyd fans talk crazy BUT floyd and pac are what i consider greats and even all time greats.

cotto is not on that level. cotto is not even on tito's level.

Well, the first, and maybe most obvious thing, is Pac will drop in the p4p rankings.

Boxing will decay cause nobody cares about Floyd winning and winning, Tim Bradley Dawson-Ward, Bute-Froch II or whoever Froch fights other than UK fans, even less Khan-Garcia or whateva happens to Peterson and Berto. Shane retired, Margo retired, soon many other will retire and people will turn more and more to the UFC and MMA...

Man, I love Boxing and I am a student of the art forever but to tell you the truth I am more into watching old time stuff I get from different people on the net. I think those were the days. I can't stand UFC or MMA but I understand that people are looking to see blood and get pumped up with dangerous fighting and this guy Pacquiao brings this excitement. Larry was one to catch it from Pac's early days under the spotlight. I am not a Pactard or a Flomo, everybody here knows I love the tricks and the intelligent moves, the strategy put on by guys like Hop, Floyd, Ward but that's me. If Pac-Money doesn't appear on the horizon even if it's far away from now, people will start losing interest. Not me tho.

It will be the end of the current era in boxing, i.e. the most talked about fight of the last half decade will have slipped through everyone's fingers. Floyd will most likely return to retirement, or take on one or two relatively unexciting fights. Whoever becomes the p4p#1 will be criticised and will seem undeserving compared to Pac or Floyd and it will take a few years before reasonable credit is given. The only bright side is that thousands of Flomos and Pactards may become so depressed that they never post on ESB again.

Floyd fans wouldn't quit ESB because emmanuel loses. If anything, they would be real happy off it and be eagerly awaiting his next fight, immediately post-jail.

Hopefully these guys Donaire, Rigondeaux, Gamboa, Alvarez, Brook, Broner, Mayfield, Mike Jones, Ward, Dawson, Povetkin put on some shows that are eye catching. I am into the 80s and all those title holders Tyson beat when they were fighting each other, the fabulous four, Arguello, Mancini, Pryor, JCC Snr, Whitaker, Marvin Johnson, Matthew Saad Muhammad, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Michael Spinks, Mike McCallum, Julian Kackson, the G Man, Terry Norris, Donald Curry, Marlon Starling, Ricardo Lopez, MAB and Morales, even Nunn, RJJ, BHop, Benn, Eubanks, calzaghe and James Toney in their peaks...

99% of the conversation from Floyd/Pac fans is towards the other half of the rivalry. As soon as that rivalry is over, for one reason or another, the conversations on that topic will start to dry up (thankfully). I don't really think that many people will leave, that was mostly a joke, but there will be a few very casual fans who will lose interest when this is all over.
