It was a lose, lose situation for Shogun.

He wins, he gets nothing, he loses, he loses it all in a way.

Atleast Vera is a known guy.

Him vs Teixeira is a really random fight too.

Glover should be built up before taking on a top guy.

You people who think Shogun is ducking anybody need to remember a few things.

Shogun has a very finite number of fights left in him, and while most of us know Glover is a very good fighter who is dangerous, not all the casuals or WWE kids know it, and that means less hype for a fight that could end up being a showdown for a title shot.

It's a very dangerous fight where only one guy has anything to win with a victory, and it's not Shogun. It doesn't put Shogun in any better position for a title shot either.

Personally I'd love to see this fight. But I would also want to see Glover have another fight or two so he acclimates properly to this new environment. Throwing him to Shogun right now very well may be like throwing him to the wolves.

Shogun has never shown a smidget of cowardess though his career. Why should we accuse him now? Just look at who he's fought, and look at his performances. He's fought injured, and he has the heart of a ****ing giant.

Give the legend a break.

If Glover wins his next fight, I wanna see him get Rampage in Page's next and last UFC fight.

So...let me get this right...Shogun is scared of Glover...so he uses the excuse that this fight wont do anything to help his title shot...but either Hendo or Jones will most likely be holding the strap if he does earn one...

He'd rather earn a rematch against the two guys who gave him two of the worst beatdowns in his career than fight and unknown, Pre-lim débutante eh. Right Dana...

I didn't expect Shogun to tap to strikes but he did.

I think it was a case of not wanting to fight a nobody towards the end of his career, much like Rich Franklin. I just don't think he was eloquent in the way he said it.

Thats more than likely the case. Shogun isnt a shit talker/disrespectful. Its the same when Santos said Mir "wasnt a man". People need to take into account a lot of these guys arent fluent with English and stop taking everything so gawrshk dang literally

I suppose thats you talking for you , if the UFC sell this guys story in build up show , tell the world " this guy is a serious talent " , then guess what ?? the world believes it , the UFC have a way of handling advertisement and PR , and this fight would sell if they get Glover's name out in the open , and relay just how good the guy is

This fight would headline in any country outside of the US , thats a FACT !!! inside the US the PR machine would have to get on with things to raise public interest , but its still a headliner IMO
