Anybody else agree that Richard Towers career is going to go the same way as Tom Dallas' Career.
Last night was the second time I've seen him and IMO he is just another hype job that will fail against the gatekeepers at the British heavyweight scene. He has no rhythm, no technical ability and his stamina looks very suspect. I also don'y think he punches as hard as he thinks. He was the luckiest man in England last night that the referee was more incompetent than he was, he should have been stopped when he was falling all over the ring and was lucky that Gregory Tony's punch power and punch technique was terrible. Sexton, McDermott. Olubamiwo, Skelton and Sprott all beat him easy imo and they all probably ko him. Can anybody see good things coming from Richard Towers?? |

This thread is not supposed to be demeaning to either Dallas or Towers, I have just seen similarities in the way they have been built up to be potential champions.
I also agree that Towers vs Dallas would be a good fight. I'd also like to see Gary Cornish in with one of these 2 to see if he really is worth the hype he is getting in Scotland, I think he will end up at the same level as Towers and Dallas. |

Depending how Dallas gets on in Prizefighter it would be a good fight for the English title. |

He's shit. He was out on his feet.
Gregory Tony, who's a little bitch had him out on his feet. Should have been stopped imho. Dallas is on a whole different level, the kid is fucking dire, he should be stacking shelves in Tesco or some shit.. |

He has good individual shots especially overhand right and does posses a decent jab but that wasn't really used last night, he has a decent body punch when he uses it as well. Last night he looked awful no question, but there is much more from Towers than last night. He needs to learn to put his combinations together and stop looking for a KO punch then he will progress further. Don't forget he is still very early in his boxing career and hasn't had the amateur background of Price or Fury say

He has never looked any good but he is big and its always interesting to see how far that can take you.
Very sloppy fighter, typical Ingle fighter but without the talent to make it really work. You never know though, he could still improve and with some size and power, good things can happen. |

Its not like Tyson Fury didn't look a mess early on. The standard in boxing is very low, especially in the heavyweight division where anyone with 6 or 7 wins is considered a prospect even if they look awful.
