And Louis was a mummy while Byrd was a slippery eel.

Probably the worst stylistic analogy ever presented in history of the sport.

true, they have nothing in common. but i've always respected louis' jab and i wonder how it will compare, despite the massive disadvantage in reach

Louis is live in any match-up. I really think Wlad's underrated footwork maintains the distance in this one. And I absolutely know Wlad's chin is underrated. None of his KD's were of the "put to sleep" variety, most were exhaustion/anxiety produced, problems he has long put behind him with the help of Manny. He has been absolutely masterful for 7 years against top ranked opposition.

i agree with the idea that at the elite level, the truly elite level, any fighter can beat any other fighter on any given night. one may have advantages stylistically but with their skills, that can be neutralized on the right night

Vitalis defense or lack thereof would cost him.
Louis was very clever and crafty, Joe would
use angles and land combos. I already posted
picking Wlad who has become very formidable to
win, however I subscribe to the notion that at
the elite level anyone can beat anyone unless
were talking about peak Ali, or Peak Tyson.
Wlad never faced anyone as versatile as Joe,
so I can see Joe getting dropped 2 or three times,
then countering perfectly. I dont think Wlads chin
Holds up against Joes bombs. If Wlad gets
agressive and presses for the knockout he can
get countered perfectly. Wlad has more skill than
anyone Joe faced, and vice versa. I gave my pick of Wlad KO
9 i think, another scenario Joe KO 8in to 10. Anyone
think Louis could drop Wlad early ala Baer? Doubtful
but possible

The Klitschkos are big targets for a puncher like Louis.

Louis, moreso than any other classic fighter, has a history of fighting giants. Carnera, Simon, Baer etc were all Klitschko sized (and world class) fighters who were blown away by Joe. Watching him destroy these guys is awe inspring honestly.

He would destroy both of their bodies for however long it lasted. The Klits DO benefit from todays landscape i.e. neglected body work and inside fighting skills as a whole across the board.

Wlad pre Steward may very well blow Louis out early though. It would be a shootout.

I can see it.
Jabbings all about the timing...Vitali throwing so many punches leaves a lot of openings and counters if you can time it and have balls. I remember Lewis nearly poleaxing him a couple times with jabs, Literally caught Vitali with his hands down. And that was Lewis with possibly the worst timing and in the worst shape of his career.
