He took old Oscar's jab away. Quartey couldn't even stop Oscar from jabbing with him, back in the 90s, and Quartey was a beast in those days

I favor Oscar because he would have an extra tenacity and sharpness to back up the ability he showed against Floyd in the first fight. The jab would be snappier, the ducking reflexes would be quicker, the combinations would be better timed, the footwork more fluid. Floyd would basically be the same; he weighed in light at 154, and he would show Oscar a similar respect at 147 as he would still be the much bigger puncher. I see Oscar backing him up with the jab and using the hand speed of his youth to give him more success when punching in combination against the ropes. It would be competitive of course, but Floyd's mobility topped out when he was a younger, lighter man.

people really do underrate floyd so much, not many appreciate the boxing genius he is, not saying DLH wouldn't beat him in his prime at 147 but I'm making a general statement.

The actual fight was not close and a prime DLH wouldn't do much better. At his best he still wasn't close to PBF's speed and talent. He had every advantage you could think of in the 2007 fight and still won maybe 3 rounds.
If they fight at 140 or 147, DLH may not win a round. |
