Now, I don't know if you're superstitious at all, but a part of me feels that if you take a punt on a grizzled nails-hard old warrior in the underdog role - while it may not magically have any direct effect on the outcome, I think it may just send enough of a small burst of positive energy out across the universe as to have some minor sway toward a favorable outcome...and who knows, it could be that little oomph that fate needs. That belief has both allowed me to retain a sense of wide-eyed childlike wonderment and the ability to enjoy it all the more when those fairytale upset dreams do come true...but also probably explains my middling standing in about every picking league I'm involved in, and many of my blown vFortunes.
