Default Tyson Fury

Anyone else impressed with him tonight? Granted, the opposition was poor but for the first time...probably ever, I thought Fury looked physically impressive. He usually starts off fairly quick but that snap in his punches rapidly declines. Tonight, however, I thought he was faster than usual and that speed carried until the fight was stopped. His timing on the uppercut was really nice too and he seemed to be carrying a bit more power.

I was impressed. Maddalone was never going to be a true test but I think he was up against his best opponent since Chisora and he looked good. He looked better than Boytsov, Adamek and Mormeck did against Maddalone, for what that's worth.

Speaking of Adamek, Fury would beat him up pretty easily, I think. I really hope that fight is next.

Agree, he looked sharp with crisp punches and combos. Moved around nicely for a big man and kept Vinny away easily. I'd like to see the Ademek clash, and agree can see Ademek stuggling with his jab and speed and distance.

Fury's height is a massive advantage,on average his opponents are 6,7 inches shorter and because they are reaching up to connect it takes away leverage so they dont generate as much power. Its the reason Tyson struggled to knock out much taller fighters.By contrast Fury's punching down which only maximises his power.

They've done a smart thing, his uncle seems a good guardian and trainer for him. Someone who has got his head right, he's gone back to drawing board and focused on gauging range and staying in position to punch whilst focusing on main aspect defending the right hand.

The drop in level annoys many but end of the day he's used this time to develop on these aspect whilst keeping active and entertaining the casuals. Now he needs to step up and take on a test.

Impressed by him tonight, boxed without going through gears and looked at ease with it all. In good shape as well, now lets hope he keeps focused and keeps developing.

I wasn't that impressed, he was fighting an old shop worn fighter that wasn't much good in the first place.

He still looked in the same shape he always does as well.

My mate, who is a casual fan, commented that they looked like a couple of fat gypsys barely a step above bare knuckle fighting. Don't think the production quality helped having just watched the brook fight.

He is losing weight but he could lose more. However as he loses weight he shows just how small his frame is so I think he needs a good S&C coach to add some muscle to those chicken legs.

His boxing has improved but he has gone from fighting the best in Britain to hand picked nobodies. Hopefully he will re-engage the likes of Chisora and Price.

Hennessey speaks bullshit now. His opinion is worthless because his words are designed to protect Fury. Hopefully his next fight will be a step up but at the moment he is avoiding the best in the UK and the best on the international stage.

He's coming along very nicely but his level of competition is garbage. Needs to step up but more importantly sort his shorts out.

Hennessey needs to grow a pair.

The first fight that he had on channel 5 was Fury v Chisora. It was a great fight, but he didn't push Fury at all. Fury then went on to fight Firtha (No Title), Pajkic (Commonwealth), Rogan (Irish) & Maddolone (WBO Intercontinental or what ever)

Chisora has gone on to fight, Helenius (European) Vitali (WBC) & now David Haye (No Title, but sure he is earning more in this fight that Fury has in his career)

Fury beat Chisora and i am sure Fury is happy to fight whoever his promoter throws in front of him. He should be being tested with these types of fights.
