I was just thinking, as this sport continues to grow over the years to come, this actually might be the rivalry that lives long in the memory even though the two have never fought and barely said a word about eachother!!
In boxing has there ever been a time when two active fighters had claim to being the "goat"? i mean i know right now we've got Mayweather and Pac in the same era, but they've never been called "goats" even though i believe Mayweather's skills will be revered long after he's gone, Fedor held the crown for so long until Anderson slowly creeped up on him, i remember one perticular night when Fedor beat Sylvia in the first round and everyone was going nuts saying "he's the greatest" and then an hour later Silva ko's Irving in one round and then many were saying "no, Silva's the greatest", at it's height the rivalry was great to see and i wonder if we'll ever see two p4p kings compete like that again? i hope so. |

Arlovski is possibly the most stupid bastard to ever be a UFC champ. |

Arlovski didn't land anything significant at all. Camera angles and Fedors weird dodging made it look very unfavorable fight for Fedor. If you watch the fight carefully the most significant strike was that front kick by Arlovski, which Fedor "rolled" with anyways.

Dagwood at Global MMA perfectly summed up why I think Anderson cant be considered GOAT material, especially after Fedor who gets outweighed by nearly all of his opponents, sometimes by 60 plus lbs.

That argument doesn't stack up considering Andersons started his career at WELTER WEIGHT!!
The man cuts weight EASILY every fight, infact he's had less problems than the likes of Sonnen who has looked drained in his last two fights, Lastly the goat argument should be about skills and results, and when you look at Fedor being ko'd by the likes of Henderson then it doesn't reflect well on the notion that he's the "best ever". |

Anderson doesn't cut from 220. He blows up to that weight in between fights when he's not training. He cuts from around 200 when he's in shape. I wouldn't bother getting worked up about it though. Most people who are "fans" of the sport seem to be fucking clueless about weight cutting and who belongs in what division. That's why you consistently hear about Jones and Anderson being too big for their respective classes when neither has any trouble making weight. And the guy who wrote that post attacking Silva is a fucking imbecile. You can't compare MMA to the HW boxing scene several decades ago. When Ali fought, most Heavyweights weighed close to 200 lbs, and the Cruiserweight division didn't exist so there was no viable option for any of those guys to cut down to if they couldn't hack it there. I could go on, but I'd just be responding to an MC troll job. |

Anderson can stay in his weight division all his career, maybe he could rematch Sonnen for the 7th time. |

He gets fat in between fights and cuts from around 200 after he sheds excess weight in camp. |
