1. Joe Louis: The best boxer the heavyweight division has seen. There are a few guys he could have fought. Such as Lem Franklin and Elmer Ray. A great combo of fundmentals and power. You don't win 26 championships with out losing with out a lot of talent.
2. Muhammad Ali: Tall, quick and awkard a young Ali would be trubble for anyone. I think the heavyweight division was comming into its own when he was forced in to exile. In his return he was sly and tough. He also beat some of the best chalangers ever. He also lost to them. 3. Rockey Marciano: You don't go 49-0 without being really good. 4. Lenox Lewis: Lewis and Mariciano are the only heavyweight champions as far as I know to beat everyone they faced. While I think Bowe would have beaten him had they fought. Lewis is the most secusfuell gaint heavyweight. 5. Mike Tyson: There are two non gaint heavyweights who can beat the gaints. One is Louis the other is Tyson. One of the best combontions of agression and defense. 6. Larry Holmes: Technaly as good if not better than anyone. Despite this and a great record. He lacks a defining win. 7. Riddick Bowe: From 92-95, maybe 96 (I belive Golatas punching him in the balls had a major effect on their fights). Bowe Is my pick to win a head to head touny. He could fight on the outside like a giant should and on the inside when needed. He also had a really good chin. Something that a lot of giants lack. 8. Wald Klitchko: If he keeps winning, he can climb up a few spots. He might not be exciting, but his style is effectve. 9. George Foreman: If this was about talent alone. Foreman Would not be on my list. The fact is that as ugly as his fighting style was. He won fights. 10. Joe Fraizer: Had the best win in heavyweight history when he beat Ali in 1971. Almost did it again in their third fight. Probbly more of an over acheiver than a great talent. Beat some good contenders, but other than his win over Ali came uup short against the top heavyweights of his day. |
