Obviously it has to be one of the many olympians or an NCAA champ at wrestling. But for a fighter with no wrestling background It's probably Mirko. His sprawl was the best.

Check out Koscheck trying to take GSP down in both fights. Kos is one of the best pure wrestlers there has been in MMA IMO, and he had no success with GSP.

The best technical TDD was BJ Penn , what he lacked was the cardio and stamina to maintain his technique , as we know one of the most brutally taxing physical movements in MMA is clinched up trying to defend or secure a TD

Prime BJ at 155.
BJ fought off GSPs, Hughes's and Fitch's takedowns before he gassed. BJ also took GSP down in the first fight. It's simple. BJ Penn has the best TDD of all time in MMA. |

For anybody saying GSP, let's see GSP move to middleweight and fight off Sonnen, Munoz and Weidmans takedowns. No fucking way! That is what BJ did. Moved up a weightclass and showed he can stuff 3 of the best wrestlers at that weight (GSP, Hughes, Fitch) .....until he gassed.
