For sometime now real boxing fans have been wise to the practices of Bernd Boente's K2 Promotions. The low purses and ridiculous contractual clauses a Klitschko opponent would be forced to agree to were common knowledge, and their lying and underhand PR tactics had become transparent to all but the most blind of mainland Europeans.
http://www.tvthrong.co.uk/files/u146...%27Grady-3.jpg 'The Bob Arum of Europe?'- K2 Promotions Owner and Manager Burnt Boente http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ujxTJoMhro...o+Brothers.jpg Employees of the month - K2's top fighters and PR men, the Klitschko brothers. However, following this weekends brutal dismantling of top heavyweight contender Derek Chisora by former Champion David Haye, it seems the walls may have finally caved in on the K2 Public Relations HQ. Directly following Chisora's narrow points loss to Vitali Klitschko back in February, Boente made a verbal agreement that the elder brother would fight the winner of a Haye - Chisora title eliminator. Sounds great, right? Well, apparently not . . . . Boente has today issued a statement revealing K2 has no intention of working with David Haye, and will instead select HW non-entity Manuel Charrr as Vitali's farewell opponent in his September send off in Kiev, Russia. This is a move that will put a sour taste in the mouth of fans around the world who are eager to see the second and third best HW's square off, and will leave them feeling stung by another devious move by Burnt Boente's K2 Promotions. It is also a move that is understood to have caused a huge rift within K2 itself, with Vitali fuming he will not be fighting Haye in his last fight despite promises from his boss that this would be the case. Fans are now left with a fight that not even the two combatants want to see, and one which has truly exposed the true appalling behavior of K2 promotions to the masses. The situation has increasingly drawn comparisons to the Pacquiao - Mayweather scenario, with Bob Arum like figure Bernt Boente keeping his cash cow Vitali away from the Mayweather of Europe, despite it promising his career high payday. http://e0.365dm.com/12/07/504x378/da...12_2795669.jpg 'Earnie Shavers for Generation X'- Haye annihilates Chisora and chases Vitali into retirement The situation was made even more farcical when Manny Charr stormed Haye's post fight press conference demanding the Londoner fight him next, an indication that he is willing to walk away from K2 and after a huge paycheck against David Haye, and that power may be slipping away from Camp Klitschko. How this will end is still unclear, there is a chance Vitali will walk away from Bent Boente and his younger brother in search of the Haye fight, or he may acquiesce and sign out with a fight against Charrr. Either way, one thing is for sure - this is finally one situation K2 cannot spin their way out of. |

I guess it's supposed to be a joke by Shaunster, but couldn't you at least use a proper picture of Bönte?

Bold of Haye to expect a fight with Vitali after being dominated by Vlad. I guess he thinks a win over the non-puncher-Chisora adds up to a title shot but I for one thinks Haye should fight his way up this time and possibly get a shot at Povetkin and maybe by then he will get a rematch vs Vlad but Haye is not calling for Vlad he knows Vitali has one fight already signed and will more than likely retire. Vitali is after all 40, remember Lewis was 37 when he retired without giving Vitali a rematch...no one seemed to hold it against him
