Solis is a good heavyweight and could give Wlad problems and I like that the brothers are fighting guys the other brother already beat. I'd still like to see Vitali take on Haye or Chambers and Wlad face Solis or Arreola.
The things I don't like about this fight is that Solis will probably come in fat and blow his shot. I don't realisticly think Solis is going to be a 220 pound fighter but high 230s-low 240s would be a good weight for Solis. It would have been nice to see Solis have another fight or two before facing Wlad, but if they fought this year that won't happen. He's had 1 fight in more than 1 1/2 years(by fight time). Long layoffs are rarely good and he's had that injury. Solis is a decent opponent and this gives some of the young guys like Mitchell, Fury, Helenius, Boystov, etc time to get some more fights in before facing Wlad starting next year and he doesn't face them now before they are ready. |

![]() Nationalism FTL. Hope this isn't true, fighting Solis doesn't do anything for Wlad at this point, I'd prefer even a Haye rematch to this. |

Wlad must be hard up for opponents. Apparently Povetkin and Arreola want none of that, and Haye won't even mention Wlad's name.
Good legacy win for Wlad if it happens. |

I agree that Solis could use a few more fights himself, he's had less than 20 fights and his best wins are all over fringe contenders. The talent is there but a few more wins against a top 10-15 guy or two would make this a much more interesting fight(if it happens). I'd prefer to see him get into that IBF tournament and try to knock off a couple good fighters before facing Wlad. Ideally, Wlad would face Povetkin or possibly Arreola, a top 10 type of fighter with experience while a numer of these younger guys(including Solis) could get some work in. Maybe its me but I don't know how much of a future Solis has. I have a feeling we won't see Solis hanging around 2-3 years from now. A big payday with Wlad could be a way for him to cash out. I don't know if he's going to be willing to put in another couple years in fighting for smaller purses and putting the work in. If Wlad calls he probably accepts. |
