De Gale is excellent , as is Groves , 2 of British boxing's true potential starts IMHO

Going over very old ground here , " BUT HE NEEDS TO BE MORE ACTIVE "

I rate him the problem is he was indulged by ****** and then unceremoniously dumped.
He obviously needs a new promoter and hopefully this spat with ****** will have discovered some hunger in him. He's still raw, and not as far on as he should be. That is in part down to his promoter for not matching him well, and him for not seeking an amicable way out.
How long has his contract got?

The big plus point is that if any of this years Olympians sign up with Frank they obviously need their bumps felt.

I know Groves would beat Degale because not only are Groves fundamentals better he has superior fighting IQ which is a quality Degale lacks. Groves has several ways of beating Degale. By boxing on the backfoot DeGale did not have an answer. Even if you don't like your opponent you don't go in there not respecting him. Degale prepared with his cheerleaders whilst Groves went to Florida sparring with seasoned better world class fighters like the Dirrell brothers, hungry youngsters like Chris EubanK Jnr etc. The early years in developing a young fighter are critical. Ward learned, Groves is learning unfortunately Degale is not.

Comparing DeGale to Man Utd is an insult to Man Utd.

I wouldn't say Groves is learning at all, he's only fought two rounds in 18 months.

You can't use the Dirrell brothers as examples for anything good either.... one has had multiple years off (for various reasons) and the other faked a brain injury to get out of taking hard fights.

I wasn't sold on DeGale until the Smith fight. Despite the Groves fight (where he got too ****y, and also showed a big lack of adaptability) he looks like he could go all the way.

The way he's able to slip shots on the inside and fight off the ropes... defo something a bit different to the rest of the fighters we have in the UK, bar Frankie Gavin maybe.

Hopefully he sorts out his contract situation soon and gets fighting regularly again. What's the dispute with ****** even about?

They all seem to move along at a snails pace.None of the talents who emerged roughly four years ago have not been nearly active or purposeful enough in their matchmaking.

Most of them should be at their peak or at least have found their level by now.

Bees ton shame on you. You are far more knowledgeable than that! Whether you like the Dirrell brothers or not it is undeniable that they are world class super middleweights. Groves has been matched aggressively and it shows. It was the Paul Smith fight that swayed people to think DeGale would beat Groves but that clearly ignored all the other matches the guys had fought. After Groves win over DeGale his subsequent 2 round destruction of Paul Smith put things into context.

I was one of those who expected DeGale to beat Groves, I'll be honest.

But what's annoying is that Groves hasn't built on it, beating Smith was good but what since....

DeGale if anything has done better, bagging the European title against a decent opponent and then defending abroad.
