So I have a problem when I spar, I'm always too concerned protecting my handsome face and as a result I take plenty of body punches, I spar with heavyweights and some of them can really bang, sometimes the pain lasts for days, I want to know if there's something I could use, (unguents, medicines that dont require receipts, etc) to heal from body punches, specially to the liver, kidney areas

Weed might be a good idea, but smoking it would be very bad stamina wise, I wonder if it would be equally useful if I inhale it or eat it in brownies?.. |

protect your body with elbows and forearms.. slip, bob - weave to protect the head and parry shots with your glove. If you only keep double deck, thats limiting your boxing abilities..
btw, you really think that marijuana will ease pain from body punches? ![]() Ease pain maybe yes because it is relaxing muscles and all that stuff but it wont PROTECT your body. So, if you take many body punishment, maybe its time to make your core/abs workout harder than before. cheers |

Use your elbows, angle your stance, and roll inside those body punches. And you are going to urinate blood and hurt; it is a contact oriented activity, violence based.

I have fast hands and good cordination to parry and block & most of them, until I get tired.. then all I can do is turtle up and move around and throw jabs bit, and that's when the body shots start to land since I try to protect my head first and foremost. but yeah, i need to work on my abs more, is there something more efective than abdominals? Another thing to mention is that i'm at a weight disadvantage, they make me spar big heavies but i'm more of a LHW, problem is there aren't sparring partners my own size and the rest of guys are much lighter So phaggots tend to walk through my punches and hit me hard. |

id much rather take a body shot then a head shot. a way to ease the pain is tenderize your abs! get a coach to pound your body with a medicine ball over and over again.

You're in the hurt business. Other than learning to protect better and developing stronger core. Learn to love it
Ofcourse if you have bruised ribs or cartlidge injury, you have to see a doctor about that. |

If you don't want to get hit and mess up your 'handsome' face, then I'd suggest you take up a different sport.
May I suggest bodybuilding? It will complement your handsome face.Edit: Also as the poster above me said, your in the hurt business. Man the fuck up. |

I find it hard to drop fat guys with body shots. Anyone else? Makes me wonder if a six pack is doing me any good. Maybe I should decrease my lean meat and protein intake, and increase my pie a-la-mode intake.

Do you tend to cover up kinda like Pacqiuao? Guys that do that are really easy to tear up to the body. You don't see the punch coming and are completely exposed. There's no reason you can't protect the head AND body. Tighten up that guard, elbows tight.
What works for me is a normal guard (wlad, calzaghe, really the majority of fighters). One hand high, one either low or semi-extended. You see better. Head punches you just slip, parry, and counter. Body shots you either step away from or take on your elbows. The only time the earmuffs come on is when you're trying to close in for a phonebooth fight. Abs won't do shit. Nothing at all. You really gonna be flexing them in the ring? No way. Even if you did, the shots that hurt are to the ribs. Prevention is the cure. You need to anticipate bodyshots and counter them hard. Pivot away from them or step back. Or try to catch the punch with your elbow. Another way is to become a bodypuncher. People won't want to sit in range of your Bodyshots, which means they can't land their own. If you catch a good one then smoke'a de ganja or pop some aspirin and learn from your mistake. Bodyshots are great weapons. You can stop anyone with a good one. They help you slow the opponents pace and make him tentative about letting his hands go. |
