Relative to the era I think Johnson's defense was the best. Sure if you had him against some guys today he wouldn't look overly impressive but for his time (over 100 years ago) the way he slipped, slided, countered and parried was revolutionary. 2. Mike Tyson Call me crazy but I think he was the best counter-puncher of all time along with James Toney. Not the best DEFENSIVE fight but the best COUNTER-PUNCHER (two different things). You couldn't get lazy with Mike or he'd make you pay. In fact I think his countering and speed made him appear a lot stronger than he was. 3. Joe Louis Awesome cominations. Inside or outside he could put them together, fast, strong and sharply. See this for great footage of Joe Louis combos: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdWT3y6DH4w&feature=channel&list=UL[/ame] 4. There are a few!! I think a chin gets to a certain stage where it can't get much better. For example how can you compare Chuvalo, McCall and Ali? It wouldn't be possibl to say one was better than the other. So... George Chuvalo Oliver McCall Muhammad Ali Randall Tex Cobb Jim Jeffries Vitali Klitschko (still not totally sold on this guys chin though) |

He sure was! I'd love to see him fighting today with modern techniques and styles. I think he'd school those Klitschkos just like he did another giant - Willard - before he gassed out.
