I to was at Maroubra the other night,& another kick in the guts for NSW Boxing, it was great to see so many people turn up,,& then turned away money refunded,,all because someone in the Club,forgot to ring a Doc,these Clubs,first time Promoters what ever you want to call them, are the ones at fault here,they were guided in the right direction from the very start,but do they have any idea on how to run a Boxing Promotion,no they dont,,they see a quick way on making a buck,,& thats about all they know,,they Do not, and i repeat,they do not have any idea whats so ever,whats involved in a fight night,please leave it to the real Promoters out there,

it has happened there before though.. I turned up one tuesday to watch. all the fighters were there, all weigh in's complete, doctors checks complete, all officials there..

just missing one thing..

And another thing stick to running a Bowling,,thats if you can run that to,,you Fukin morans....

hey good to hear the ABA have banned Maroubra Sports Club from TRYING to hold another Amateur event,God help any other Boxing organisation that gets involved with this Club....

there should have been a doctor doing medicals before boxers were matched. its impossible not to know you have no doc 5 mins before the start as you need one to check all the kids before they fight.

Bagging Maroubra Sports Club isn't too helpful.
Surely it's not the fault of the venue where the tournament is being held.
There has to be a boxing club running the show.

You say the ABA has " banned " Maroubra Sports Club. I would suggest that the opposite would be more likely.

Surely Boxing NSW and the clubs involved have to take some of the blame for not making sure everything was up to speed.
Nobody from the boxing fraternity thought to check ?
Suppose a few of the old lawn bowlers were going to fill in as R&J's on the night.

Apparently its up to the venue to book the doctor and ring. The rest is done by boxing nsw. I might have been a bit harsh bagging boxing nsw in the first instance, but i do believe they should have a process for double checking these things. I agree with the club being banned, alot of ppl turned up and there should be consequences for such actions. I was also told they didnt even buy trophies for the boys, which is also up to the club.
