Default Peekaboo Boxing Style Tips

Wondering if anyone had any advice on how to improve/master the peekaboo boxing style?
I use the slip bag every training session and use the floor to ceiling ball to improve my head movement.

Any advice/information on boxing out of this style or drills to improve this style would be very helpful.

I don't ever use this, but being able to shrug down when you feel body blows coming is an important instinct to try to develop so your forearms will take them. I don't feel durable enough to use a peekaboo style, I need to move in and out and get out of range so people throw at air and then blitz them.

Practice the quick return to guard after stiff stiff punches, you can't overextend or wind up too much if you want to keep in range and actually absorb their counter fire winky wright or clottey style. For peekaboo head movement is actually not always necessary if you feel confident in your guard.

Having naturally long arms and finding the proper distance to hold your hands from your face is really important, because if you loosen them for a bit your own gloves can actually transmit a whole lot of the impact and you might not be able to see as clearly as a slightly more relaxed guard to naturally turn with it.

I think a lot of this is natural.

thanks for the advice, i'll definitely try and use this when i'm fighting because my style felt like it was missing something and i felt like i was becoming one dimensional, relying only on head movement, so thanks again

depends on which peek-a-boo you're using. up and down like tyson from cheekbones to forehead, which is good with slips and rolls. or like an amateur style with hands from temples to forehead which is good with 'parry-n-go', 'catch-n0-go' and 'step-back-n-go' counters.

Where are you located...my main advice would be to find a coach that teaches the system.

Watch Lomachenko and find a coach.

Learn to punch off your slips to add power.

Work on doubling the right hand and the left hook.

Body head, head body.

watch this guy spar
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeipyHw9DWQ[/ame]

i was taught to fight with a peek a boo style. high guard, head movement, body shots and alot of pressure.
imo its the easiest style to learn because all the moves are basic and not as risky as some of the other styles like mayweather or toney.

sparring was the best teacher. also we did a drill where you and your opponent have to stay inside a drawn out square, then you are forced to infight! this drill was awesome for developing infighting skills from the high guard, picking punches and most importantly staying relaxed when so close to your opponent.

watching films of prime tyson and fighters like rios is invaluable
