Where do you see this huge demand for the Rigo fight? Certainly not at the gate, Arce does better there. There's a couple of dozen posters screaming for it, that's not huge demand. |

That fact that he is fighting Nishioka is not the problem. I think people recongnize nishioka is a credible opponent and is accomplished at the weight and a good fighter. I think the problem is that people claim Donaire is ducking Rigo yet he does not want address that.
Regardless if you are one of the people who think Rigondeaux is not deserving of the fight, it is a fight the people want to see nonetheless. If i start i poll of which opponent people want to see Doanrie fight i guarantee you it will be Rigondeaux by a landslide here on ESB. Doanire could easily shut those critics up who claim he is ducking, and there are alot of them, by simply fighting Rigondeaux. But the fact is that he has gone out of his way to discredit Rigondeaux, saying he would rather watch basketball play offs than Rigondeaux. He has said Rigondeaux is a boring fighter, when infact Rigondeaux is coming of a string of KO's while Donaires last few have been anything but exciting or displays of great boxing. In conclusion, instead of Donaire taking the initiative to shut the critics up once and for all he fights others. They claim he is ducking because he is not fighting Rigondeaux. At the end of the day, it is true, he is not fighting Rigondeaux. |

I can't actually believe people are still complaining about Donaire not fighting Rigo. Nishioka is the number 1 in the division, and near P4P status. And Rigo is taking on another club fighter.

I say it again; I'm ok with this fight, it's more competitive than Arce.
But saying Nishioka is p4p at his 37 yrs old and 1 yr lay off is ridiculous. The fight can be sell only in a Rios undercard, nobody here knows Nishioka and Donaire just proved on his last fight that he isn't a big draw. Nonito keeps changing his mind, he said after mathebula that he wanted another belt, then he went after Arce ,and now after Nishioka ( none of them hold any belt) Rigo vs Donaire could have sell the same or better than Nishioka ,even as a main event with a decent undercard. And it's defenitly the fight 95% of fans want to watch. If Rigo is fighting less opposition it's because he fights just whoever is available and with enough balls, he is calling anybody out, isn't just Donaire . |

I like Rigo, he's a tremendous fighter. But why is he entitled to a shot at Donaire? People were slating Donaire for fighting Mathebula, his second fight at the weight. His first was against another former belt-holder, Vazquez Jr. Both these guys are better fighters than anyone Rigo has faced in the pros.

"Prove" what? What do you need proven to you, he's a title holder in the division, is recognized by anyone who knows shit about boxing as being one of the best in the division, if you ever watch boxing and have seen him in the ring it's pretty clear what he brings to the table, yet here you are making excuses for Donaire to duck this dude...pathetic as fuck.
