I think he realized just how close he was to losing his title
i dont think he wanted to undergo the physical rigors of training anymore and didnt want to fight someone so dangerous he just got done KO'ing Tyson and everyone was starting to call him great and then he had a rough outing I think it was a smart move on his part but was disappointing for the fans |

Anybody that
a) knows anything about physical sports And b) is around that age themselves Knows no sportsman is in their prime at 37 or older. It's impossible. Especially one that weighs 30 pounds more than 10 years previously. Wlad is in his prime. He's not far from not being though. I think he'll be better a bit longer than Lewis because honestly he looks after himself better. But in your late 30s your reflexes aren't as good. You're not as quick. Your motivation and drive has probably decreased. Someone might be able to use experience to compensate for the diminishing physical capability, but they will have slipped physically. |

Here's a better question....why did Vittle flat out lie to his fans when he said he'd get his title back after quitting against Byrd and than never even bother trying to make a rematch in spite of both of them being still active and near the top of the top 10? |

He'd have been 38 if a rematch happened.
1. Wlad is very close to being past his prime physically 2.Wlad looks after himself a lot better than Lewis. Which is why in the last decade Wlad has ranked from a low of 241 up to a high of 249. Lewis in the decade before he retired ranged from a low of 229 up to a high of 256.5 |

I am not sure if anyone has mention this yet but Lennox Lewis TKOed Vitali Klitschko in six rounds. I just thought I would point that out there! I was wondering how everyone feels about that point . . . I believe given that FACT TKO 6s do exist!

Lennox retired because he wanted to and could . . . lol. the guy beat every pro he has ever faced and was the champ during one of the high points in the divisions history. Only a small segment fans think it has any impact on his legacy . . . and they are all klittards
