I don't see how Klitards can still go on about this, Lennox punched the cut into Vitali's face therefore the result of Lennox's punches caused the fight to be stopped.

I liked Lennox and only rooted against him twice, the Vitali fight and the Tyson fight
I dont think he was so dull He had some great early destructions and what he did to Tyson and Tua dominating the smaller guys with his height and jab is exactly what my favorite Heavyweight Wlad Klitschko does Lennox had some really nice highlight reel knockouts as well |

Fuckin stupid. Vitali was ahead by 2 rounds when it was stopped. And guess what, being ahead after 6 rounds, in a 12 round fight means jack shit, because numerous fighters have comeback in the second half to overcome a whopping 2 round deficit and win decisions, or (gasp) cause TKO's and KO's. KO and TKO exist in boxing...."winning" by being ahead on the cards at the time you are stopped only exists in fantasy denial land.
His cuts were seriously bad. If he was allowed to continue, his career could've been cut short by further damage. And no, he wasn't dominating at that point. While still competetive and in the fight, the momentum had visibly turned, and while both guys were gassed, Vitali was on queer street towards the end, and was fighting a guy who had experience in championship fights, and finishing them when the opportunity was there.....and it was there....any unbiased person can see that. Vitali could've fought his ass off if allowed to continue, but most signs observed pointed to him getting progressively beat up if he was allowed to go on. Competetively beat up....but beat up. There's no shame in TKO6 for Vitali. The real shame is it is his defining moment in the sport. |
