Default Better resume: Cotto or Mayweather(Read before voting)

The question is who has the better resume not who is the better fighter(Mayweather obviously).

So if you take away there fight against each other who has the better record?

Cotto fought the better fighters. Floyd had more success.

Floyd.

name the big names that Floyd fought than Cotto, Then go for there. just the names should give u the answer. Then factor in who is multi division, amatuer pedigree, record. Floyd distances cotto by couple miles.

No. On a resume do you put down the jobs you applied for but failed to get?

resumes highlight accomplishments. If that was the case, my man Oscar would be a top 5 ATG

Floyds 130lb career by itself is more accomplished then Cottos entire career.

Cotto best wins.

Clottey (I thought he lost)
Margo 2nd rematch (Revenge win but Pac fucked margo's eye up)
Mosley (His best Win)

I will even throw in undefeated Quintana as a good win. As Quintana went on to beat the much feared paul williams.

But that really wraps it up right there.

Floyd time

Oscar
Mosley
Hatton
Corrales
Castillo x 2
Marquez
Coralles
Hernandez

Of course I dont count a loss as an accomplishment. But its better than not facing the person at all.

Floyd's resume at the lower weights is always overlooked. Cotto is my favorite fighter and has truly taken a tougher road than Floyd at 147 and above, but he also lost a couple of those fights.

Agreed on that, but Floyd's work at 130 and 135 sets him apart from Cotto quite clearly, on top of holding a W over Cotto himself and over and Mosley much clearer than Cotto did.

Floyd has the better resume and is a higher ATG. Floyd is top 50 for sure and Cotto maybe, MAYBE top 100.

That is why Cotto gets more universal respect than Floyd.

Cotto took on Margo, Pac, and a younger better Mosley. Mayweather's only blatant duck was Margo, and he fought an old ass Mosley. His JMM was a farce of a fight and he didn't even try to make weight.

Cotto will go down as a guy who took on all comers, won a lot and lost a few. Mayweather will always be perceived as a cherry picker; largely by guys who didn't see his lower weight career.
