I have the black highs and yes they are very light. It is true that there isn't a lot of support around the upper but for a boxing shoe I don't see that as a bad thing. If you need more support around the ankle just lace them up to the top and tie them tight. They are not loose on me, as I am assuming that person probably ordered their true size when they should've went down a half size. I wear 9.5 in Nikes (Air Maxes, Air Trainers, Structures, Stabs) and Sauconys and I ordered a size 9 in these knowing they are gonna minimize the padding around the upper and ankle collar (there is pretty much none). The are very breathable unlike my Title shoes, but the problem I have with them is the fact that the outsole keeps peeling off. I have crazy glued the sole back a few times now but I have been wearing them for over 3 years now as my main boxing boot.

i always believed the its better to get that free sort of feel, i used my brothers lonsdale shoes and i felt a bit less uncomfortable because my ankle was a bit more restricted. |

I have terrible ankles from years of playing basketball so I feel more comfortable with the restriction. The thought of rolling an ankle is always in the back of my mind though.

I've never worn boxing shoes before. Do they make a huge difference? The Nike Free Run 2s that I train/spar in are really light and comfortable, and luckily I haven't had any issues with rolling my ankle. I'm planning to buy some actual boxing shoes for my match, but I'll probably end up buying some cheap ones.
