He's short and isn't as big as the big lw's like Maynard and Bendo, but he isn't some sort of midget at the weight, his torso is big. This is what a guy looks like if he's genuinely undersized for the weight: Edgar isn't big for a lightweight, but he isn't undersized, and he'll be a monster at featherweight. The size thing is waaaaaaaaaaaay overplayed.

Yeah but he won't be as big and strong fighting down there as he is at LW. That's a point, very often missed when fighters move down. Fans think they will actually be the same size an strength, they wont.

Maynard wrestled at 157 in college, as did Ben Henderson. Faber wrestled at 133. Kos was at 174. All of them fight near their college wrestling weight. Edgar was at 141.
Just as most people claim and as you can see with your own eyes in the cage, Edgar is a lot smaller than the guys at 155. |

Most likely. Love watching Aldo but he seems a bit too reckless but I'm not sure if his speed and striking would nullify Edgar more technical approach(from the bits I've seen from him lol). Wasn't impressed with Aldo against Florian but he's crafty and I'm sure Edgar wouldn't utilize the same strategy. Will see the Hominick fight if I haven't.
Fight I'd watch with a smile on my face and a dvd I'd pay for happily. Hope fight does happen if both can make the weight safely.

I need to look at his more recent stuff then such as his fight with Hominick. A few of his early rds ko(don't feel like looking them up) seemed like he could've paced himself more but he still got the W's. Maybe I'm being too critical?

Why is it that all the other fighter I named (and there are more) fight close to their college wrestling weight except Edgar, but somehow that just doesn't apply to him? His optimal weight, assuming that what holds for everyone else holds for him is more than a full weight class lower than where he won the title. He should get at least as much props as Penn or anyone else who's clearly fighting guys whose optimal weight is much higher than theirs.
