Flynn named Langford as the hardest puncher he met.

Article titled ‘Knockouts by Sam Langford Puzzle Wills’
Speaking recently of his two kayo defeats by Sam Langford, Harry Wills said: “I was knocked out twice during my career. Sam Langford turned both tricks. What punches he used or how he did it, I don’t know to this day, except from heresay. On each occasion I was leading on points. The first time it happened was in 1914, Sam and I were scheduled to go 20 rounds. When the 14th began I was going easy and Sam was in a bad way. I backed him around the ring, trying to land one that would put him to sleep. Sam lunged forward suddently, his right hand shot out like a lightning flash, and so ended that fight. Two years later we were doing another 20-rounder. In the 18th I had Sam in a lot of trouble. But he weathered that round. With the banging of the 19th gong I sailed in, figuring that if I could crowd Sam into a corner I could stop him. That was about all I did-sail. For Sam caught me going in, and I went down and out. I don’t know how long I was out, but there’s no mistaking the fact that I was completely out.”

Harry named Sam as the best fighter he ever fought. “He was a real professional,” Harry said, “The kind of fighter you’d like to be but know that no matter how hard you try you’ll never make it. Sam never made a mistake, he always held command and when he knocked me out in New Orleans in 1916, I thought I had been killed."

More Wills on Langford:
"Talk about hitting! Well, I've met some hard punchers in my time, and all I can say is that the hardest blows any of them ever landed on me were like a slap in the face from a woman compared with those bone-crushing wallops of Langford. They seemed to go right through you.

When Sam hit you in the body you'd kind of look around half expecting to see his glove sticking out of your back. When he hit you in the chin-well, when that happened you didn't think at all until they brought you back to life again."

Amazing amazing fighter Sammy Baby - poor Flynn was ripped was some serious hits in that one - not a good place to be - on your own in a ring with a torture machine like Little Sam - poor Fireman he must've known he was gunna get taken apart again by the little demon
