Default How Nice/Ghetto is Your Gym?

havnt got any pictures but man my gym is just in a small rec centre that has old people using the centre for dancing. While if you go along the right side of the centre are stairs going down into the basement of the centre with a few bags, a ring on the left side. It's smaller than a normal suite but it does well enough. The gym doesnt accept too many people just a select that are willing to really compete. There are posters all over the wall of famous boxers. A Closet door that contains the sparring gear, the door has a poster of vargas and mosley. There's a wall of sparring gloves hanging up for use because the coach doesnt want to risk anyone using punchers gloves.

Fee's are 37 a month for anyone under 14
anyone over 50 a month or 150 for 4 months

feel free to share pics or explanations to how your gym looks like and how much you pay to keep boxing or anything else about your gym

Last gym was ghetto as ****. Basically a tin shed. Small ring. A bunch of medicine balls and dead balls in the corner, half a dozen bags along one wall, a shelf full of shared gloves and pads. The coach would walk around with a cup of tea in one hand and a stop watch in the other shouting out instructions. Good place to train though, just a bunch of guys and kids working hard and loving the training.

Training at a new place now, pretty flash, new mats and shiny new equipment, but it's part of a mixed fitness centre, so they do crossfit, pole dancing and a few other things there. Huge floor space though, so there's plenty of room to do your own thing, and the conditioning options that are available are out of this world.

Sounds expensive. Gym where i train is around 70€/year.
Havent paid a cent yet tho and there are few others also who havent paid anything and they have been there almost two years.

Its part of bigger club and boxing is one subdivision, whole club is supported by the city mostly.

Call me a wuss, but I just wish there was air conditioning especially during summer.

Although, it probably works for guys cutting weight.

Sounds like the place I'm planning on going into. They also have judo, gracie jiujitsu and krav maga. It looks catered for yuppies, but I can't complain about the amenities. They even have towel service for christsakes.

My gym is pretty nice, has 10 heavy bags, 14 speed bags, 4 double end and a full sized ring but the only issue is the sparring gloves that we use are so worn down, the padding is so worn that if the guy hits hard enough you can almost feel his knuckles, I'd bring my own gloves but I don't them to have any advantage! But normally we don't spar full strength but once in a while you accidentally let one go. W

I don´t know what you guys mean by "Ghetto".....but in comparison with my last gym, this one now is pretty good with more heavy bags and a big ring......

Trust me, this is probably the cheapest gym here. Gyms like tony peps gym in new west minster BC cost 90$ plus tax monthly. My last gym which was a money maker 95$ a month with only 1 hour with the coach 3 times a week. I shouldve left that gym a while ago but i never bothered to think i was just losing money. Spent half a year there. 150 for 4 months is a blessing.

we only have 6 heavy bags in my gym with one being a light bag. Two uppercut bags, 2 speed bags and 2 double end bags. Well one now, one end of the double end snapped one is the normal size and the other was for hitting higher or for the taller guys.

My old gym (This isn't me in vid ). The amount of nights i spent as a youth sweating in this place. I loved the smell of leather and the small ring. Intense training..
