Surprised no one is talking about Trout's plan to outjab Cotto. I think he is going to run once Miguel starts tagging him on the inside with his own jab...

I like how the last article talked about how the focus is on changing the range. Extremely important, as Cotto will have to control things on the outside and be able to engage his offense on the inside at will.

It seems logical on paper, but the way Cotto steps in with his jab and times it so well makes it harder for taller and longer fighters to have success with it. Trout will probably want to control the center (unlike Floyd), which is smart, but ultimately Cotto will probably prove the superior ring general.

Well, IMHO I think that Trout will try to take advantage of his range. He will also try to clich after a combo trying to take away from Cotto counter punching ability.

I also belive that he will try to (belive it or not) presure Cotto. Nobody is expecting him to do so. He will play and attempt to pressure and see how that goes. He will attempt to take advantage of his size, presure and clinch.

For Miguel to be effective, he must be ready to fight in the middle of the ring, be able to counter a pressure fight and be agressive and prepared to fight on the inside. He must attack the body early. He also needs to watch for Trout's faint, step and turn.

Austin stated several times that he will get "dirty" I take that as he will attempt to pressure and clinch and we know he can clich we all seen it.

Cotto being able to fight on the outside, inside and attacking the body early will be key to his sucess.

Miguel Cotto trains steam in Orlando

Less than two weeks after his bout against champion Austin Trout, boxer Miguel Cotto and he is putting the finishing touches on their preparation, a crown waiting on 1 December with recovery middleweight world title.

Led by their coach Pedro Luis Diaz, who has accompanied him on the last two matches, is just remarkable confidence that Cotto, 32, is in itself.

Former champion yesterday showed a glimpse of the work he has done with Diaz, while conducting a training session open to the media in the city of Orlando, Florida, home to the second part of his camp.

As he has done since joining Diaz, Cotto (37-3-0, with 30 KOs) heaped praise on his coach and said that lessons learned will make the difference when he faces undefeated Trout (25-0-0 , 14 KOs) at Madison Square Garden in New York.

"Peter has marked their knowledge in this group and they all saw the show with (Antonio) Margarito, everyone saw the show with (Floyd) Mayweather Jr. and everyone will see the show with Trout. So how well Miguel Cotto has looked in recent times, and how well they continue looking until the end of his career, Peter must be, "said Cotto told reporters gathered at his gym in Orlando.

Cotto came to Orlando in early November, after spending the previous three weeks in a camp in Big Bear, California, more than 7,000 feet high.

"We came here (to Orlando) and we are also working to capacity. We understand that both Big Bear and the preparation here in Orlando will be of great benefit, "said the former champion.

As usual when talking about opponents, Cotto spoke with respect Trout, whom he described as an "elusive boxer".

But respect is not daunted confidence that the 154-pound belt, WBA version (AMB), change of owner. Similarly, Cotto denied that it is he who has more at stake in the brawl.

"Trout is risking his crown of world champion and I'm going after her. So the speculation and what people want to say I do not care, I know the reasons why we took this fight against Trout and thither we go, "he said.

Led by Diaz, Cotto beat Margarito via knockout and then dropped a unanimous decision against Mayweather. But both results, as emphasized Cotto, are a thing of the past and Trout is the new target.

"They are totally different fights, opponents completely different. Now for Austin Trout, a rival totally opposite to what is Mayweather. So let's apply what we've practiced here in the camp to get the win, "he concluded.

Vinimos aquí, estamos trabajando a capacidad.

Miguel Cotto Sharp Like a Knife

The Puerto Rican had yesterday an open session of training in Orlando

After first quartered in the heights of Big Bear Lake, California, Miguel Cotto Vázquez yesterday showed their fitness to the media at a public meeting in Orlando, Florida, where he moved the final part of his preparation for his fight holder with Austin Trout on December 2.

During the past years, Cotto has moved his team to Orlando to train in that city, where he has a home and exclusive use of Don Miguel's Boxing Gym that Mech Tech College he built at its headquarters Floridian. But to encounter Trout coach Pedro Luis Diaz Benitez decided to make the first-and usually stronger-conditioning step in the mountains of California, in search of better cardiopulmonary fitness and endurance. The move paid dividends, as it allowed him to concentrate on the end of their training in the technical and tactical, rather than strengthen their physical or down, as often happens in boxing.

"I feel the same (compared to their barracks prior to the fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 5 last). Just work more at the start (the barracks). But we're like, "Cotto told El Nuevo Dia in a recent phone conversation.

The group trained in Big Bear Lake from 6 to 27 October. Then, the boxer and his entourage returned to Orlando, where they will remain until Sunday, the day leaving for Manhattan.

Yesterday Cotto, who will challenge for the title Trout's WBA junior middleweight, he added that both stages were very helpful.

"It was great, it went very well as recommended by Peter. Ability to work in Big Bear. We came here, we are working to capacity. We understand that both Big Bear as termination here in Orlando will be of great benefit on the day of the fight. "

The former triple champion expressed his usual indifference cagüeño when he commented on the extreme confidence and motivation that his rival has shown during his barracks in the upper town of Ruidoso, New Mexico.

"He will feel like you want to feel. The night of the fight, when we're both in the ring, because there will know what it is like, "predicted the boxer.

"I'm not worried Trout undefeated," said Cotto. "Not the first undefeated I face in my career, so we're going with a different mentality."

Also contrasted the style of his past your opponent with the next.

"They are totally different. Now for Austin Trout, which is totally different to Floyd Mayweather. And we will apply what we have worked here, "he said, describing Trout as a fighter" elusive ".

Upon his retirement from the ring, said it is close, but "I have no time."

"They are 32 years old. I've been 21 in this sport. I want to do other things in my life. So now this is the last stage in my career, "he said.

Its not really that (IMO) it may sound like that because he is so reserved in the way the talks. I wish he would express/talk more. Hell, its in Spanish! He should be able to speak his mind in a more direct/open way.
