They will raise your heart beat rate.

Imagine, you are not very trained. You get the drink. Your heart start pumping harder. Then you get into the ring where heart beat can reach 180-200 beat per minute. On top of that you add the energy drink...Well, after several repeitions you will blow up your ""engine"

If your heart went 180 beats per second, you would die

If it's loaded with caffeine and you are unaccustomed to taking it, you run the risk of getting muscle cramps.

Although, there has been studies that showed that caffeine improved muscular strength and endurance. But if you end up with muscle cramps, you're screwed.

If you ever get cramps on your calves, for instance, you'll lose all mobility and you'll be lumbering around the ring; plus, it'll sap your punches of all it's power and you'll be throwing overhand rights like a 5 year old little girl.

To find out how your body will react to it, down whatever amount of energy drink you're planning on drinking before a workout. Wait around 15-30 minutes and then do 5-10 hard rounds on the heavy bag. If you end up with anything undesirable (like puking your guts out), then you probably shouldn't be drinking it before a fight.

Now that I think about it, didn't Antonio Margarito drink one right before the Pacquiao fight? It probably didn't help him much then.

Oh yea, I forgot about all that sugar. That would explain why some people get light headed and nauseous.

Not energy drink ala red bull. Gu gels or sports beans will produce better results and are designed for it.

I tried creatine once, and I was sweating and breathing like crazy...really lost my focus. I don't drink coffee. Don't like caffine.

then you'll end up with a whole lot of low quality carbs like maltodextrin, and a bunch of other crap that your body has to work hard to get rid off.

staying hydrated with waters your best bet, glucosamine is your bodys energy supply and its carrier is water in a ratio of 1 to 3 so without water your quickly out of gas mate
