Default Sprints

i was wondering if the sprints i do are enough, any feedback appreciated.

the regime i do isnt 100 meters sprint or anything , its a little hill not really really long or really really steep but a nice little incline and i mean im generally quite fit so. i sprint up it once then jog back down and repeat this 4 times and im nackerd have to stop for a few seconds, i try to do 10 sprints up the hill and after each one jog back down but sometimes im so outa of breath after the 4 sprint i have to walk back down instead so all together all in all i sprinted up it 20 times with say 10 jogs back down.

its quite good because im kinda mimicking the pace of a round with the sprint up and then jog back down keeping that hearbeat up and by the 4th incline im gassed

just dont know if it is enough, because its not like 100 meters of 200 meteres im worried it isnt enough, it is a hill though so? and maybe the regimine i did is enough with the jogs back down.

wat do you guys think

It's your total energy output that matters more than the length of the hill. If the hill's short, just do more climbs.

It's perfect, actually. Just shorten your rest period and gradually increase the number of sprints you do as you progress.

Don't do sprints everyday. It will affect your CNS within a few weeks if not sooner.

You're central nervous system is like you're bodies car battery. Sprinters are very heavy on the central nervous system, because you're muscles are firing and contracting at near enough maximum intensity at times.

If you was to sprint everyday, you would become fatigued. And then possibly chronically fatigued, which can do long lasting damage.

Its not about how hard you train, its about how smart you train.

After high intensity workouts, allot of athletes get ice baths/cold therapy. It's meant to be very beneficial for recovery, muscle and you're central nervous system.

I personally wouldn't waste my ****ing time.

I feel great after having some time in the ice bath at my local gym. Refreshed, Revitalized and less sore.

Yeah id advise sprinting no more then twice a week and keep repetitions under 15 ideally between 5-10, try and find a longer hill 80-120 metre and put 100 percent into the sprint

Just started doin sprints myself, how does this routine sound?

Using a football pitch i sprint the half way line, and then jog round half the pitch. Repeat this 14-20 times.

Thanks.

sounds decent but you could try this too - sprint the whole lenght of the football pitch goal to goal x10 with a minutes rep between each set to make sure you go at 100 percent.

I'll give it a go. When you say rest inbetween sprints, so you mean walk/slow jog?

Thanks.

Is that ideal rep range of 5-10 just for hills?
