most likely a lack of confidence in your own ability, I was like that at the start. the more you get hit, the less afraid you'll be of getting hit.
you've already got the jab down, and as you say he starts countering that and you get hit anyway. so start following up on that jab and putting some combos together! try to get loose and fluid in your work |

Just let your hands go. I was similar when I boxed. I wasnt afraid of getting hit but when I hurt my elbow I couldnt throw my right hand for fuckin ages so I was extremely jab happy. So when my right hand got abit better I hardly ever fuckin threw it. Its only sparring mate so I wouldnt be worried about getting KTFO.
