Default Rio Heroes 14 is free (Preview videos)

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

It is on December 29th and is free on ******* from that website. So if you like the more no holds barred version of MMA, check it out. I can't say I know too much about the fighters but I am definitley interested.

Check out the 'RH evolution' video for some rio heroes highlights.

Iv seen some of these fights before. It reminds me of the Vale Tudo days.To be honest im not that impressed with it.For all intents and purposes it is no holds barred with very few rules. I dont even find it midly impressive.

Not for me.Illegal strikes dont interest me. Eye gouging rabbit punching kidney punches spikes.. naw not my cup of tea. Theres tons of ways to skin a cat.

Fighting systems are based on rules. These Brazlian tournys have none there literally the precise meaning of the Portugese word Vale Tudo (which means "anything goes")

Actually, I think eye gouging is illegal in Rio Heroes. The rules are the exact replica of the original UFC show.

Im pretty sure eye gouging in the orginal UFC`s wasnt illegal. I recall Shamrock and Kimo going at it in there 1st bout and i recall Kimo gouging Shamrock and he had a nice mouse under his eye.Even in the Vale Tudo matches iv seen Mark Kerr eye gouge in the old bouts from the late 90`s.

Actually, fish hooking was not against the rules until UFC VII. That was after Tank Abbott stretched Taktarov's mouth in a losing effort at UFC VI.

Bump!!!

I never followed Rio Heroes when it was going on, but I did watch some bouts a few years back. I think I'm going to try to watch it from it's beginnings.

I think fish hooking was always a gentleman agreement Rek, the same as eye gouging/hair pulling ect...

Hackney/Royce/Tank are still memorable are because they were the exception, not the rule

Some of those Rio Heroes fights are ****ing brutal. That shit was like Felony Fights at a higher level.

Where else are you going to find a legitimate Man vs. Woman MMA fight?

Point was those type of fights were the exception not the rule...onlyMcCain/Dana marks would argue otherwise

Of couse there were fights that would be against the rules now, but Id be hard pressed to name 20 that wouldn't pass the URMMA post Gracie era...bet you could though fella

You are not stealing my nostalgia. No Fish Hooking made it's rule debut at the beginning of UFC 7. I remember seeing it and knowing exactly where that rule came from. That isn't what happened with the other rules.

Hell, I only found out about a rule change for Severn and Shamrock's rematch last year. I don't remember them saying anything about not being able to hit each other with a closed fist on the original broadcast. I read somewhere that is a condition that was met in order for the promotion not to get cancelled in whatever city it was being held in.
